One of the proposed casino projects for Woodbury County is getting some big backing.
The Hard Rock Casino and Hotel announced $30-$35 million in new financial commitment in a recent letter to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
The Hard Rock proposal is one of three applications for a land based casino to be built in Woodbury County.
A letter submitted to the IRGC states that Brent Stevens, of PGP Investors, LLC,investors, intend to provide a "convertible line of credit" to pay for expenses incurred in connection with the application process.
Brian Ohorilko, Administrator for the IRGC, says all three proposals proved their finance in November. Ohorilko says as long as no changes are made to the site plan or the amenities of the casino, this change won't play a factor in the commissions decision.
"As far as scope, amenities, location, it doesn't appear this information provided to us changes any of that," Ohorilko told Channel 9. "So with that being said, there should be no problems with the application process."
