Winter is far from over, and right now we are experiencing some of the coldest temperatures we've seen in while.
Which means most of us will probably see our energy bills go up, but there is a program that can help you pay those high bills.
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program, offered through the Woodbury Community Action Agency, can actually send money directly to Mid American Energy to help cover your bill.
The program does have a few guidelines.
Community Services Director, Craig Frazen says, "There is an income guideline its 150% of the poverty level, and a person can be on housing and as long as they pay their heating they would still be eligible."
Now the Community Action Agency tells us that they are usually pretty booked up with appointments for the program, but they haven't seen as many people this season.
People are encouraged to apply for the program from now until April 30th.
Now all you have to do is call the Woodbury Community Action Agency and schedule and appointment.
