There's troubling news about Sioux City's Beyond the Bell program tonight.
In a statement, Interim Executive Director Matt Ohman says some questionable spending has been discovered on credit cards used by the agency. The charges are linked to two employees who are no longer with the organization.
According to Ohman an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Ohman says, "Beyond the Bell continues to operate as a quality before-and after- school program for children at Sioux City elementary schools. The program continues to uphold its mission: Beyond the Bell helps children reach their full potential by providing a safe place to learn, grow and play."
Sioux City Community Schools Communications Director Alison Benson says the school district was recently informed of the investigation. "They have assured us that Beyond the Bell will continue and the services provided to our parents will go on as scheduled," said Benson.
