A pallets company in Jackson, NE was thought to be a total loss after a weekend fire, but that may not be the case. Today we spoke with the owner of Gomez Pallets, Antonio Gomez, and he says that his company is going to rise quickly from the ashes.

We still don't know what sparked the fire, but nearly all of the wood used to make the pallet has been burnt to a crisp. Antonio says the fire did deal his business a blow. "In reality, on top of the insurance that you have, you never recuperate what you lose. So it's devastating. It's really sad."

But there is hope for his company as all of the machinery used to actually make the pallet was not damaged. Antonio says, "The machinery, you know, it's ready to go. We're just waiting for the fire marshals, inspectors, and insurance guys to give us the green light to go ahead and crank them up."

Gomez is optimistic that he will be operating again very soon – potentially by the beginning of February.
