Promising news Monday night for the over 300 employees at the Argosy Casino.
The Sioux City City Council voted to approve the dock lease agreement between the City and Penn National Gaming, the owner of the Argosy.
Mayor Bob Scott abstained from the vote.
The lease was set to expire Tuesday and without it, the riverboat would have had to close.
The 12-month dock lease states that the rent price remains the same and neither the City nor Penn National can sue the other party for anything that's happened in the past.
