Budget cuts are a big concern for property owners in Sioux City.

If cuts aren't made, property taxes could rise.

The city doesn't want to make too many cuts that will have a big impact on the community.

Now some city employees' jobs could be on the line.

In a recent proposal the city could cut three Sioux City Police officers.

Mayor Bob Scott says, "In the proposed budget there's already reduction in personnel so to get any more its going to be very difficult, and whether some of those will be re–instated I have no idea, but if they are then you're looking at a real significant increase in taxes, unfortunately."

The Sioux City Public Museum and the Art Center are also facing budget cuts.

The next budget cut hearing concerning the Sioux City Police Department and the Sioux City Fire Department will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
