On Tuesday, the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors discussed its budget plans for the fiscal year of 2013.
Cutting funding for the County's Health Services (formerly Mental Health Services) was one program targeted.
It receives about $3.5 million dollars in funding from county property taxes, but that won't keep the program afloat.
"We recommended the elimination of two full time positions. We recommended the elimination of the Mental Health Corps. We recommended elimination of funding to "Friendship House," said Patty Erickson-Puttmann, Woodbury County Social Services.
The Sheriff's Office also recommended a few changes in its funding.
Six open deputy spots provide flexibility in staffing, and even though deputies that cover those shifts will be paid overtime, Sheriff Dave Drew said the numbers will add up.
"The higher end deputies will be at a master, senior deputy rate, so they'll be at the maximum pay. When you bring in the younger deputies, they'll be at an entry level. That wage difference should help for the overtime," said Drew.
The county plans to finalize its budget plan two weeks from Tuesday.
