On February 1, 2013, the Dixon County Sheriff's Office was called to investigate a one vehicle fatality accident on Highway 12 three miles west of Newcastle, Nebraska.
The vehicle left the paved road and struck a tree head on. The forty eight year old passenger, Brian Chase of Newcastle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, forty three year old Alison Clickenger, was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa by Mercy Air Care.
The accident was investigated by the Dixon County Sheriff's Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
Seat belts were not in use.
