At least eight people are in the hospital after two accidents on Highway 75, north of Sioux City.

Around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sioux City Police arrived on scene.

A black SUV was eastbound and was struck by a green Suburban going southbound.

A red pick-up then stopped to assist in the accident but was rear-ended by another SUV.

The extent of those eight people's injuries are yet unknown.

They were taken to both Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City.

Sleek road conditions were said to cause the accidents.

Siouxland Paramedics, the Iowa State Patrol, Woodbury and Plymouth Sheriff's Office, and Hinton Police Department assisted in the accidents.
