"You see these things all the time, but I've never witnessed something of this scale before," said Jim Lange of Norfolk, Nebraska.
It was no mistake that a little love and support was dished up at the Norfolk Catholic High School on Sunday.
To help out one of their own, the school hosted the "Bring Isaac Home" pancake feed to raise money for senior football player, Isaac Pfeiffer.
It was just a few months ago during a state playoff game that Isaac suffered a spinal cord injury.
So his team and his community decided to rally together to raise money to help offset medical costs.
"Words can't describe how we feel. It's a total expression of love. This is like a big hug when you come to a place like this and feel so much support," said Isaac's dad Neil Pfeiffer.
Hundreds upon hundreds of people from all over northeast Nebraska were there to support Isaac.
"I've never been a big fan of attention, but it feels good to know that all these people care about me," said Isaac.
Some of that support even came from other football teams.
"We all had great seasons this year. We all made it to state playoffs. We just thought it'd be cool to come out here and support him," said Dalton Bichlmeier of Norfolk's Lutheran High Northeast.
But whether you sported the Norfolk Catholic's red and white, it was no doubt the love for Isaac was present.
"I can probably never thank them enough. I appreciate everything they do for me," said Isaac.
Isaac is expected to move back home from the hospital the end of February.
