Girls and bugs seldom go hand in hand.  On Monday Sioux City Girl Scouts Troop 312 was working to change that image.

The girls, who gathered at Briar Cliff University for a special demonstration, not only looked at the bugs but touched a wide assortment of creepy crawlers including a Great African Millipede.

"You hope that they remember this you know that hey I can't remember his name but we held spiders and we held millipedes and he told us about what he did and you know maybe someday they'll become an entomologist and contribute to the scientific field," says Dr. Ted Wilson, Briar Cliff University Assoc Prof. of Biology.

The girls capped off their day of learning by staging their own cockroach races.
