A distraught man led police on a high speed chase early Tuesday morning before driving his truck into the Missouri River near Sloan, Iowa.
Around 1:00 am Sloan police saw a man pull out of the Kum and Go parking lot in Sloan at a high rate of speed.
Police followed and the man drove his truck into the river.
He was able to get out of the truck and climb to shore where he was taken to Mercy Medical Center to be evaluated.
The truck is still in the river and Monona County authorities will have to pull it out.
