It is a major development for students and faculty members at North High School in Sioux City. Their new digital media production room is the first of its kind in the Sioux City Community School District.
The new room features brand new Mac and PC computers, video cameras and even a green screen. The room is all a part of the schools "one on one" initiative to help enhance student's 21st century learning experience.
Students like Kayla Samek, say it is just what the school needs. Especially for those that do not have this type of technology at home, such as herself.
"All the projects are getting more technological, so it's nice to have a place because I don't have a lot of technology at home. So it's nice to have a place to go edit film, and video and stuff like that," she said.
The cost of the room was about 12,0000 dollars. With the help of MRHD and a national stem grant, the school was able to make way for the development.
