This event will take place during Emerson, NE Q125 Celebration. The race is on 06-01-13 @ 8:00 a.m.
This is a 5K obstacle course that will include approximately 5-7 obstacles along the 3.2 mile course. Running surfaces will include gravel, minimum maintenance as well as paved surfaces. Along the route you will encounter obstacles sure to challenge your ability to race to the finish and even end up a bit muddy when all is said and done!

Siouxland Humane Society Holds Fifth Annual Quilt Auction
The Siouxland Humane Society will hold its fifth annual Quilt Auction on Thursday, June 6th, at the Sioux City Community Theatre at 1401 Riverside Blvd. Quilt viewing will start at 5:00 p.m. and the auction itself will begin at 6:30 p.m.  The quilts may be viewed on our Face Book page. If you cannot attend but are interested in bidding, please contact LaVon Stroh at (712) 252-2614 ext. 16 or lavon@siouxlandhumanesociety.org.  We will accept absentee bids until noon on Tuesday, June 4th. 
Over 65 quilts will be available for purchase giving you the exciting opportunity to bid on gorgeous one-of-a-kind quilts.  This spectacular group of quilts includes wall hangings, table runners, baby quilts, lap quilts and all sizes of bed quilts.  The auction will feature both new and many antique collector quilts that have been put together by hand or machine.  All of these beautiful quilts have been donated by generous animal lovers in the community. 
We also will be holding a silent auction while we are doing the live auction which will feature many quilt related items, animal lover packages, Scentsy items, quilts, books and much, much more.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Mid America Museum) – The Mid America Museum of Aviation and Transportation announces the Siouxland Aviation and Transportation Expo on June 9.  The Expo will feature a Fly-In and Drive-In pancake breakfast, tethered balloon rides, dog sled and dogs, a new Cessna aircraft, special programing during the day for all ages. The museum gates will open at 7:00 am for Fly-In and Drive-In groups. Pancake breakfast will begin at 8:00 am. Knoepfler Chevrolet will showcase new Chevy models,  Integrity Balloons of LeMars will offer tethered balloon rides early, Sioux City's ACES will bring an aircraft for display.  Classic car clubs  and Fly-in aircraft will be around most of the day. Entrance and breakfast for adults is $7 and for children $6.  The Mid America Museum of Aviation and Transportation is dedicated to preserving transportation history. The Annual Tour of Gardens hosted by Quota International of Sioux City will take place from 8:00 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 15, 2013. The driving tour will feature six diverse and beautiful gardens in the Morningside area. The registration site is Grace United Methodist Church (1735 Morningside Avenue). WHO RADIO GREAT IOWA TRACTOR RIDE COMES TO Northwest IOWA FOR FOUR DAYS!
(Des Moines, IA) The tractors, 537 to be exact, are coming to Northwest Iowa on June 23-26 for the WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride! With more than 750 participants, and another 400+ family members, this event promises to get people talking TRACTORS!
"We are really excited to use Sioux City as our home base this year," said Janine Van Vark, one of the many coordinators of the event. "The people here have been absolutely fantastic to work with and have made us feel like we are at home and a part of their community."
The WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride will begin on Sunday, June 23rd. According to Van Vark, tractors and participants will begin rolling in sometime around 8 AM on Sunday the 23rd, and continue throughout the day. "Sunday is our gathering day, where the participants register, get their tractors shined up and this year will spend time sharing stories." We encourage the public to come and look over the Tractors, visit with the Drivers and look through our Sponsor displays. Tractors will be on the streets early on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as we cloverleaf out to nearby communities. We return to Sioux City, our home base location, at the end of each day.
