Friday morning, Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott presented the "Growing Sioux City" award to "ACES" or Aviation Consultant Experts Solution.
The company, which is certified in maintenance repairs of aircrafts, came to Sioux City just over a year ago. And since then has hired 20 full time repair mechanics.
"It's really pretty phenomenal to have a group of professional here where there's not been a real heavy aviation presence here for quite a while. So to have this great group here behind me is just amazing, to work with them. And we have fun every day," said Travis Stein, chief operating officer of ACES.
The crew has "fun" working on aircrafts like the Seaborne models. They finished up work on their first aircraft just a few months ago and finished up their third. It will fly out of Sioux gateway and join the rest of the commercial fleet in the Caribbean.
"We brought our first airplane down here oh 4-to-5 months ago. Took delivery just a couple months ago. And it's hard to believe number two is here and ready for delivery, with number three just behind us," said Dave Ziemer, chief operating officer of Seaborne Airlines.
Just after a year of being in Sioux City, ACES says it does have plans for expansion, and sooner, rather than later.
And just a fun fact but a similar Seaborne airplane will actually be accommodating the bachelor and his bachelorettes to a Caribbean resort on Monday night's new episode of the bachelor on ABC.
