Four Siouxland schools just got a little "smarter." On Monday, Homer Elementary, Immaculate Conception Grade School, St. Paul's Lutheran School, and Mater Dei Middle School all received Smart Boards.

They're valued at $1,500 and were made possible through a promotion at Hy–Vee. And educators say, the smart boards have become an invaluable teaching tool.

"Well it's a great tool for the teachers. We're able to speak to children in their language, which is technology anymore and so having that tool in the classroom is immeasurable," said Mater Dei/IC Principal Mary Fischer.

Also as part of the promotion, a student from each of the winning schools got an iPad.
