An apartment fire broke out on the 600th block of Hornick Ave at around 6 a.m Wednesday.
Fire crews and police were on the scene as they helped get all the tenants outside safely. The tenants were awaken by the sound of the smoke alarms throughout the apartment. The structure of the apartment was not affected, but black smoke filled the building. Fire crews filtered out all that smoke.
They are currently investigating the cause of the fire, but officials say a candle or desktop computer may have been the culprit.
