On Saturday, the Siouxland Youth Hockey Association held its annual pancake day in honor of "Hockey Weekend Across America."
The event raised money for general funds for Siouxland hockey youth.
It also lets people get a taste of what Siouxland youth hockey is all about.
"It's a time for us to be able to show off our program here in Sioux City. All of our skaters sell tickets to the event. It's open to the public so that everyone can come and check out what youth hockey is in Sioux City," said Kathy Vanrooyan, President of Siouxland Youth Hockey Association.
While thousands of people ate their pancakes, they we're able to watch young hockey players on the ice.
