"Today, it was just timing. It was the perfect storm. It's snowing and it's rush hour," said Sioux City Police Sgt. Tyler Hartwell.

The crashes added up.

In a 4 hour period, police received over 60 accident calls, and answered about 30. Luckily, only 4 of those resulted in injuries and all were non-life threatening.

Like the accident that happened at 4500 Military Road.

One person was taken to the hospital with a leg injury. The poor conditions continued through the evening.

This semi jackknifed on I-29 south bound in South Dakota.

"Try to choose routes that are going to be safe for you. Most people have a couple different ways you can get to your house and if there's a way you can go that has less hills, less intersections, try to take that route as possible," said Sgt. Hartwell.

Sioux City's Tim Turner said, "I kind of avoided it. I kind of heard it was a little slick on the Interstate. There's kind of some drifts in the middle of the road so if you're out on West 19th, look out for that."

The storm is likely to continue through the morning hours, so leave plenty of time to get to work or school tomorrow and travel safely.
