Windrows are the snow piles in the middle of the street made by snow plows.

It's around these, that the city says drivers should be extra cautious.

These piles can be over 5 to 6 feet tall, which could make it difficult for people driving to see at and around intersections.

"It can create a sight problem. We do our best to push them back so people can see around intersections, but there's not much more you can do especially with the amount of snow," said Ron Isaacson, Sioux City Snow Plow Driver.

Snow crews advise people driving to drive slow and cautious around the windrows and if at all possible avoid crossing over them.

The city says they'll start clearing the windrows Saturday morning around 7 a.m.
