The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) board Friday awarded direct financial assistance and tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs program to three companies for job creation and expansion projects.
Cherokee based American Natural Processors was awarded $100,000 in direct financial assistance as well as tax benefits to retrofit an existing facility in Galva. The company plans to expand its production capabilities. The project is expected to create 10 jobs and represents a $2.4 million capital investment. ANS is a specialty oilseed and grain processor.
The board also awarded Polaris Industries, Inc. tax benefits to expand its capacity in Milford. The project will include the acquisition of an existing building and manufacturing machinery and equipment. This $3.6 million capital investment is expected to create 40 jobs, of which six are incented.
IEDA director Debi Durham said, "Today's board action will keep Iowa on the map as a leader in global financial services sector. Additionally, manufacturing expansions in our state continue to occur, demonstrating that our economy is strong. We are pleased to be part of securing jobs in Iowa."
The Principal Financial Group of Des Moines also received support from Iowa Economic Development Authority.
