An Emmetsburg, IA woman was sent to the hospital with serious injuries she received during a snowmobile accident.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office were called to a farm field east of Storm Lake at 11:25pm Friday night.
Laura Wheeler-Plantz, 37, was found to have injuries to her head and upper torso. She was originally taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Mercy Medical Center. Wheeler-Plantz was released on Saturday.
The driver of the snowmobile, 27 year-old Brent Ulrich, was found to intoxicated. Authorities also found a 9mm handgun on him. Ulrich did have a permit to carry, however that is invalid if the owner is intoxicated.
Ulrich is charged with OWI and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
