A Sioux City man is facing several charges after leading on authorities on a high speed chase that ended with him ramming 3 police cars.
Michael Young is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd Offense, Assault on a Peace Officer, Eluding, and Driving with a Revoked License.
According to court paperwork the incident began when Young unsuccessfully tried to purchase a shotgun at Scheels.
Employees there refused to sell him the weapon because he was intoxicated and they notified police that Young was driving away.
Police witnessed him hit a center median, and cross the center line numerous times on several roads on Sioux City's Northside.
When Police tried to stop him, Young speed off, north on Chambers Avenue.
He drove upwards of 80 miles an hour before driving through a fence in the 3400 block of Chambers.
Officers ordered Young to get out of his vehicle, but he refused and rammed 3 patrol cars, before becoming stuck in a snow bank and police were able to arrest him.
