Sioux City, IA - Even though their record might not show it, the Musketeers have been an interesting team to follow this season.
The current team and the team that started this season is night and day. They are the youngest team in the USHL and they're starting to figure things out.
This weekend was a success for the Musketeers as they swept the Omaha Lancers on Friday and Saturday.
The Musketeers probably won't make the playoffs but here's a key stat that shows why Muskies fan should be excited for the future:
On January 14th GM/Head Coach Brett Larson complete the firesale of the veteran roster by trading Riley Bourbonnais to the Lincoln Stars.
Regular season record: 14-25-11
Since Bourbonnais trade: 8-10-0
There's little doubt that Larsen is building a team with his current roster and through the draft for the future. But this team isn't throwing this season away -- they're playing hard every night and they're starting to develop the chemistry and camaraderie that will only strengthen the Musketeers chances for contending for a Clark Cup.
