Members of the North High School Dance Team have been busy busting their booties on the dance floor for months. Literally.
And it's all in preparation for Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas later this month.
North High's dance team has won state and regional for two consecutive years, but coach April Netely says nationals is on a whole other level.
"It's a different level, the judges are much more strict about following the rules. They'll be seeing teams that are from Texas, some of them are teams of 70. So that's a different thing for the Iowa girls to see. So, the competition is going to be a little different than it was at state," she said.
Serious business this time around. The girls have been putting in a lot of hours since June of last year. Coming in at as early as six in the morning with the guys joining them bright and early too.
Although the competition is fierce, both groups of dancers they say they're confident in taking home the gold.
"We're hoping to come back with the National title maybe not necessarily all 3 dances that we're taking down there, but we're really hoping to have a positive outcome, and to at least come back with one national title," said Senior dancer Abby Berenstein.
The dancers will be heading to Texas on March 22nd in hopes of strutting their stuff, all the way to a victory.
