The NAIA Women's Basketball Tournament is expected to bring 8,000 people to Sioux City this week.
It's a big influx of business into town, and makes for lots of prep work at the Tyson Event Center.
The preparations at the Tyson Event Center actually started Saturday night, right after the Muskies game.
The court had to be laid out over the ice, and today signs and posters had to be hung.
One of the most favored features, the VIP tent was also put up.
The folks at the Tyson aren't the only ones who are prepping, Stoney Creek Inn is ready to host several of the teams this year.
Stoney Creek Inn Manager, Jenn Pavone says, "I can not tell you how excited our staff gets when we know the girls are coming, when we know that our guests that whole week will be the most respectful, energetic, and inspirational group that we have come in."
The hotels aren't the only ones who get excited, restaurants in town also see lots of business.
Chris Glaesemann, Manager at Famous Dave's, says, "We definitely plan on staffing more people, we actually have an "on call list" for basketball teams that just randomly show up. We give somebody a call and they come in and take care of those people for us."
Chris said tonight he already had two teams who were coming in to eat some good ole BBQ.
According to tournament organizers the event brings in close to $3,000,000,000. each year.
