According to officials, a fire broke out around Midnight Thursday, at a land fill in Cherokee, IA.
The fire department spent several hours after that, trying to put the fire out. The fire still had a few hot spots this morning, so land fill workers attempted to use dirt to smother the flames. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
