A **WINTER STORM WARNING** is in effect for most of Northeast Nebraska including Knox, Cedar, Pierce, Wayne, Thurston, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, and Burt counties until 1 PM on Sunday. Most of this area will see around 4 inches of snow, but a locally heavy band has been favored within the models and inside that band, snow totals could be as high as 8 inches. This could make for some treacherous travel - especially early on Sunday morning when the snow will be falling at it's heaviest.

A **WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY** is out for Dixon and Dakota counties in Nebraska as well as the rest of Siouxland including all local counties in Iowa and South Dakota. Between 2-4 inches of snow is expected across much of this area with some locally heavier amounts possible under heavier snow showers. The time frame on this Advisory is similar ending at 1 PM on Sunday.

If you're driving out in the winter weather, remember to travel slowly, keep your lights turned on, and give snow plows and other emergency or large vehicles plenty of room out on the road. It's also a good idea to pack a winter survival kit in the worst case scenario that you get stuck. In the kit, include a blanket, a flashlight with extra batteries, medications, snacks, and bottled water along with any other necessities.
