Some kids in Siouxland spent Saturday afternoon reading to a few furry friends. The "read to dogs" events took place at the Wilbur Aalfs Library in Sioux city.

Kids cozy up next to the therapy dogs, and dive into a good book.

"They do listen, but sometimes my dog... it just walks away," said Kyrie Olorundami of Sioux City.

"The kids can read to the dogs and they don't have to worry that the dogs are judging if they can't ready really well. They kind of forget that they are really working at something," said Deb Loger, K-9 S.T.A.R.S volunteer.

The K-9 S.T.A.R.S organization has been putting on the event for several years now. It will hold another similar event in October when the therapy dogs dress up in costumes for Halloween.
