UPDATE:
Police have identified the gunman as a 26-year old man. His name is not being released at this time. He is currently being evaluated at a local hospital. According to Sioux City Police, charges will be filed later this week.
UPDATE: A suspect was taken into custody after a 9 hour standoff in a Sioux City neighborhood.
Authorities say they arrived at the 100 block of Helen St. around 1am Wednesday morning. They were searching for a suspect related to a domestic disturbance at a separate location earlier this morning.
Everyone else in the house voluntarily came out, but the suspect barricaded himself inside the home.
A loud noise that went off around 8:30am this morning was actually a "flash bang," a distraction device, used by the SWAT team.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after 10am. No word on what charges he will face.
We have reporters on scene and will bring you the latest as it becomes available.
