Army Corps of Engineers Says No Major Damage To Gavins Point

Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say that they have found no major problems with the Gavins Point Dam related to the flood of 2011.

Officials spent yesterday testing the spillway at the dam and look for any potential damage that may have been caused by the flood.

Sonar tests last year detected anomalies below the spillway.

Because the spillway is submerged most of the time, it's much more difficult to evaluate than upriver structures.
