Folks across the world watched history in the making on Wednesday, including students at Bishop Heelan High School, who watched Pope Francis be unveiled on the big screen.

Students and faculty at the Catholic school say they've been praying about the historic event for weeks now.

Ben Linden, a Bishop Heelan Junior said, "We've been learning about it for the last week and now that it's all happening, it's crazy to see that you're a part of this. You're the one who's praying and witnessing this all firsthand."

Arianna Kefgen, a Bishop Heelan Senior said, "I'm glad that its been a long process and that they thought wisely about who's going to be the next Pope."

After the announcement, the student body paused for a prayer for Pope Francis.
