Two hundred jobs will be coming to Vermillion, South Dakota after an information technology company's expansion.
On Wednesday, Eagle Creek Software Services announced it's building a $10 million dollar technology center in Vermillion.
The IT company already has one center in Pierre, and is choosing to expand in the state because of the demand of U.S. based IT services.
"I'm grateful for companies like Eagle Creek who are bringing jobs like that back to America, where we understand one another and what we need of one another and what the expectations are of the workday in South Dakota," said South Dakota Governor, Dennis Daugaard.
In an effort to help fill those positions, Eagle Creek is offering a training program through the University of South Dakota.
The university will be offering a four year undergraduate program as well as a two year graduate program.
"In today's world as things shift to technology centers, we need deeper and deeper skills, those skills we wanted to develop through the masters program. That also creates a greater skill set and wage base for this community and the state," said Ken Behrendt, president of Eagle Creek Software Services.
The program will start this fall at USD.
Eagle Creek plans to open the new center in Vermillion early next year.
