Woodbury County Settles Strip Search Lawsuit For $385,000

Woodbury County has agreed to pay $385,000 to three women to settle a lawsuit over strip searches.

The three women had filed lawsuits against the county saying they were unlawfully stripped searched in front of male jailers, and one of the women was subjected to a cavity search.

Maureen Rattray was awarded $335,000 in the settlement, Lori Mathes received $40,000 and Lisa Lambert received $10,000.

Insurance will pay a portion of the settlement and attorney fees in the case.
