Channel 9 KCAU-TV has learned that a U–S Army soldier from Estherville, IA has died in the line of duty.
Henry–Olson Funeral Home in Estherville confirmed with Channel 9 that funeral arrangements are pending for Sergeant Steve Blass. Blass was one of five service members who were killed Monday in Afghanistan in a helicopter crash.
As of Thursday The Department of Defense hasn't released any information.
