It was a very special day for 26 eighth grade girls from Siouxland.
They were recognized and honored today at the Sioux City Convention Center as part of the 61st Annual Quota International Honors Luncheon.
The girls are being recognized for their personal growth, improvement in school, and helping others.
The students were selected by their school counselors, and for some, they didn't even know it was coming.
Eight Grader Tara Rethman says, "Well I got down to the office and at first I thought I was in trouble, but then they told us that we were chosen. It makes me feel very happy and very like a role model."
Quota members tell us, this is their favorite event of the year because these girls are our future.
