LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Two key figures in the history of Nebraska athletics will have their names attached to facilities on campus.

The university's Board of Regents on Friday approved the naming of the volleyball court at the Devaney Sports Center ``Terry Pettit Court'' and the renaming of the Haymarket Park Baseball and Softball Practice Facility to the Alex Gordon Training Complex.

Bill and Ruth Scott gave a donation in honor of Pettit, the school's volleyball coach from 1977-99. The amount of the donation wasn't disclosed.

Gordon, who played third base for the Cornhuskers from 2003-05, is the Kansas City Royals' starting left fielder. He and his wife, Jamie, made a $1 million donation.

The regents also approved a new contract that extends the school's partnership with Adidas through 2018.
