Not many can say they've hung out and swam with Olympic athletes all day, but that was something Sioux City swimmer Shay Brandon got to do on Sunday.

"It's pretty awesome....pretty awesome," Shay said.

In part of the "Fitter and Faster" swim tour presented by SwimOutlet.com, a clinic at North High School was held to teach young swimmers all kinds of skills and drills to help them improve.

Olympic swimmers Kara Lynn Joyce and Jimmy Feigen were the clinic instructors.

"We wanted to focus these events on freestyle, breakouts and underwater kicks. So we brought in two of the fastest freestylers in the world," said David Arluck, CEO of the "Fitter and Faster" swim tour.

Joyce and Feigen taught skills like proper breathing techniques and stronger underwater kicks.

They also went on land exercises and stretches, hoping that through their teaching they inspire the kids.

"This might be more fun for Jimmy and I than it even is for the kids. I love to give back and hopefully inspire the kids. I remember when I was a young swimmer the chance to meet an Olympian or touch a medal meant the world to me. I hope I can have some kind of impact like that on these kids," said Joyce.

Which Shay said, she believed the Olympians have did just that.

"This is just the beginning, and I hope it continues to be this awesome," Shay added.
