You can't grow business, without access. That's why the City of Sioux City is signing on to help fund the early stages of bringing a new interchange on to I-29.

On Monday night, the city council agreed to fund an environmental study for that interchange, which would provide access to the Southbridge Industrial Park.

That will cost around 400 thousand dollars total. The city would pay about a third of that. Woodbury County also agreed to pay for a portion, as well as the Iowa DOT.

Council Member John Fitch said of the project, "I think we have about 80 million dollars invested in the Southbridge Industrial area and one of the key components to that, to the success of that, would be an interchange. Every business that comes in want to know about access to the interstate."
