Sioux City has announced its new Blue Zones project team. The team's aim is to help Sioux City become a "certified" Blue Zones community after being named a demonstration site. Basically, they'll help Sioux City become the healthiest it can be.

A familiar face is one of the project leaders. Former Channel 9 Eyewitness News Morning and Midday anchor Chris Liberto will be working with local businesses to implement the ideas.

"I think this is a great opportunity for myself. To get involved with it obviously after television, I'm looking forward to something a little bit different and get out into the community. In terms of the project, a lot of people have been knowing about this for a couple of years and it's time to really get moving with it," Chris said.

Chris is the team's organization lead. He'll help recommend healthier changes that restaurants and grocery stores can make to become blue zones certified. The other team leaders are: Susan Brown as Community Program Manager, Joni Kellen as Project Manager, and Kimberly Gordon as Engagement Lead.
