The Early, Iowa man accused of murdering his mother and kidnapping a Storm Lake woman, won't go to trial until June now.

21 year old Kirk Levin's trial had originally been scheduled for April 10th but it has now been pushed back to June 3rd.

Levin is charged with first degree murder and third degree kidnapping.

Prosecutors say Levin repeatedly stabbed his mother, Marilyn Schmitt, at her farmhouse in Early on January 3rd.

They say he then kidnapped a 21–year–old woman and tied her up and put her in the trunk of a car.

The woman escaped after Levin drove into a ditch.

Levin had been released from prison days earlier after serving time for burglary.
