Iowa junior Roy Devon Marble netted 28 points on 9-of-18 shooting Friday night and the Hawkeyes earned a 75-63 victory over Stony Brook.  The 2nd round NIT win came in front of a sellout crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

"He was phenomenal tonight," said UI head coach Fran McCaffrey. "He handled the ball, got to the free throw line and set the tone in a lot of ways. When I look at the stats, I look for things that jump out at me and the thing that jumps out at me is 20 assists and 26 baskets. That applies to our team, and he's the guy."

The performance was Marble's ninth 20-point game this season and the 11th of his Iowa career. It is also the third highest scoring output of the guard's career.

The victory was Iowa's school-record 18th home win this season and advances the team to a NIT quarterfinal game on Wednesday, March 27, at a location to be determined by the outcome of Sunday's Virginia-St. John's game in Charlottesville, Va.
