Dakota Dunes, SD - The long wait is over for the newly renovated 18th hole at Dakota Dunes Country Club, and now golfers will be looking at virtually a new hole.
"Previously they to just worry about keeping it out of the Missouri River, but now you have to avoid the bunker, you have a blind tee shot, and really have to learn where to aim and shape your shot," said Justin Arlt, Dakota Dunes' Head Golf Pro.
In the summer of 2011, the Missouri River flooded and damaged both the 17th and 18th holes. A new levy was built to prevent future flooding.
The hole officially opened on July 11th and the 17th hole is expected to be open within a couple of weeks.
