Ames, IA—Iowa State Head Coach Paul Rhoads announced today that the Cyclones will be without their starting center when they return to action.
Junior Tom Farniok left Saturday's loss against Northern Iowa with an apparent knee injury and did not return.
During his Big 12 teleconference today, Rhoads confirmed Farniok will miss the game against Iowa on September 14 with a strained right MCL. Rhoads went on to say Farniok could return as early as September 26 against Tulsa, but the Cyclones want him healthy when they host Texas on October 3.
Farniok had started 27 straight games at his center position and earned honorable mention All-Big 12 last season.
