ALLEN, Neb.—In a Lewis and Clark Conference match, spectators got their money's worth, as Allen defeated Emerson-Hubbard, three games to two.
The Lady Pirates scored the first two points of the opener, and the game stayed close through the early part. They pulled away to win 25-17 in the first game.
The Eagles won the next two games, 26-24 and 25-22, before Emerson-Hubbard recovered with a 25-21 win to force a decisive fifth game.
Allen edged their guests 15-12 in the fifth and final game.
The Eagles improve to 7-4 on the year. The loss for the Lady Pirates is just their second on the season, as they fall to 6-2.
