IOWA CITY, Iowa—The Iowa Hawkeyes excelled in all three
facets of football Saturday afternoon in a 59-3 shellacking of Western
Kevonte Martin-Manley returned a punt 83 yards early in the
second quarter to put Iowa
Less than a minute later, Martin-Manley did it again, this
time from 63 yards out and the rout was on.
B.J. Lowery, who had a fantastic interception last week
against Iowa State, returned an interception 35 yards
with less than a minute to go before halftime to put the Hawkeyes up 38-3.
In the third quarter, Lowery scored another touchdown on an
interception return, this time from 13 yards out.
The Hawkeyes (3-1) have won three in a row, which is their
longest such streak since 2010. Iowa opens Big Ten play next week at Minnesota at 3:30 PM.
