VERMILLION, S.D.—The South Dakota Coyotes overcame a slow start to improve to 2-0 in Summit League play with a 3-2 victory over IUPUI Sunday afternoon.
The Coyotes hit only .000 in the first set, falling to the Jaguars 25-22. They were able to battle back and win the second in overtime, 26-24.
After the halftime break, IUPUI took the third 25-20 before USD came back to win 25-19 and 15-11.
Kendall Kritenbrink led the Coyote attack with 22 kills and 12 digs. Sydney Dimke (12) and Audrey Reeg (11) were the other two players in double figures for kills.
Kaitlyn Hastings led the way with 20 digs, followed by Riley Haug with 17. Tori Kroll had 13 digs to go along with her 52 assists.
USD (11-6, 2-0) is back in action Friday when they travel to North Dakota State. First serve is set for 7 PM.
