Omaha, NE - Former Heelan standout Carli Tritz has decided to walk away from basketball before she starts her senior season at Creighton. Tritz has battled a knee injury since her days at Heelan, and every year it got worse until the pain was too much to take. Tritz says "It's hard to walk away from something that's defined you for as long as you can remember. It hurts to walk to class, it hurts laying in bed, it hurts when I sit, and just hurts all the time. I graduate in May and I would like to be a division one coach. Hopefully I can start out as a graduate assistant and move on from there".
Tritz was earned All-State honors in three sports at Heelan. She was the 3A Player of the Year, MVC Freshman of the Year, and a first team All-MVC pick as well.
