SIOUX CITY, Iowa--After a scoreless first period, the Sioux City Musketeers and the Waterloo Black Hawks found their rhythm offensively, but the Muskies had too much firepower, winning their fifth-straight game, 5-2.
In the second, Jared Thomas started the scoring with a back-hander that leaked across the line to make it 1-0 Muskies.
After Waterloo knotted it, Avery Peterson got a redirect to regain the lead for the home team.
Waterloo would tie the game in the second period, but Sioux City would tack on three unanswered goals in the final period to win handily.
The Muskies are now 6-2-1 on the season, and have yet to lose at the Tyson Events Center.
They host the Fargo Force on Wednesday, October 30. Puck drop is set for 7 PM.
