SIOUX CITY, Iowa--Fifth-ranked Morningside and No. 13 Northwestern each advanced to the NAIA Football Championship Series, the organization announced Sunday.
Morningside, which won its third straight Great Plains Athletic Conference title Saturday, is advancing to the postseason for the tenth straight year. It is the longest such active streak in the NAIA.
The Mustangs (9-1) will take on Rocky Mountain College (8-3) who finished second in the Frontier League.
The game is set for noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City.
Northwestern, which handed Morningside its lone loss, earned a spot in the FCS as well.
The Red Raiders (8-2) will have to travel to Marshall, Missouri, though to take on No. 7 Missouri Valley.
Kick off is yet to be determined, but the game will be on Nov. 23 as well.
If either team wins, it will advance to play in the second round on Saturday, Nov. 30.
